The 16528 bracelet is the 18k yellow gold Oyster: full gold centre and outer links, gold Oysterlock clasp with gold safety catch. It runs its own part numbers rather than gold castings of the steel ones. Early production carries reference 78668 on 103 end links, the combination Christie’s catalogued on the R985336 porcelain Floating example of 1989. The same 78668 clasp stamp recurs on Christie’s L- and E-series gold lots, on Antiquorum’s R985236, and on three Artcurial gold Zenith lots. From the middle of the 1990s the reference becomes 78398 on 193 end links, which is what Phillips catalogued against a T12 clasp code at the Geneva Watch Auction X. The 78668 lots carry M-series clasp codes from 1988 and that T12 stamp is the earliest documented 78398, so the changeover sits loose somewhere in between, and the gold line was under no obligation to switch when the steel one did. The Rolesor 16523 makes the same point from the other side, running a third set of numbers again: 78363 to 78393 to 78393A, on 403 and then 703B end links. The clasp is an Oyster-style folding clasp with the Rolex crown on the safety cover; clasp date codes carry the standard A=1976 → CP=2011 framework documented on the [[Reference:Bracelets\|bracelet hardware page]].

	The 16528's gold bracelet is much harder to replace than the 16518's leather strap. Gold Oyster bracelets do not wear out the way alligator does, and original-bracelet 16528s with clasp date codes that match the case serial era command a clear premium at auction. A 16528 presented on a swap bracelet, or on one pulled from a Day-Date 18038, gives itself away through clasp-code mismatch and subtle differences in the centre-link profile. Gold Jubilee fitments exist as special-order configurations on a small number of 16528s but were never standard delivery.
