Privacy policy
Rolexopedia is a community reference wiki. We try to collect as little personal data as possible and to be explicit about what is stored.
What gets logged
When you browse the site, our web server records the request URL, the time, your IP address, and your browser user agent. This is standard server access logging and is used to diagnose outages and mitigate abuse.
The wiki also loads self-hosted Umami analytics. It records page views, referrer URLs, browser, operating system, device type, and country of origin. Umami's tracking is designed to anonymize this data and does not use tracking cookies; the analytics data stays on the site's own infrastructure. See Umami's data and privacy FAQ for the software's stated behavior.
When you create an account or edit a page, MediaWiki stores the username, a password hash, and the edit history of each page you contribute to. It records the IP address on an edit made while logged out; that IP is visible only to administrators. Logged-in edits show the account name instead.
What we do not collect
We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not sell or share contributor data. We do not require an email address to read the wiki.
Cookies and sessions
MediaWiki sets session cookies when you log in. They keep the account session active across page views. The Umami tracking script does not use cookies. Anonymous page views do not need a login cookie.
Contact
If you have a question about data held in your account, or want an edit attributed to your IP address removed, contact an administrator through the site's talk pages. Requests can be reviewed against the edit history and applicable retention requirements.
