Pandolfini Casa d'Aste sold a second 18k yellow-gold example (serial no. 648XXX, 35mm, silvered dial with applied indices) for within its €8,000–14,000 estimate at a December 2024 Florence sale. Pandolfini's own catalogue dates this watch to 1960 — well outside the roughly one-year 1948 production window the Field Manual and Le Monde Edmond otherwise give the 5030. Nothing in the working research resolves that gap: it may mean the reference ran longer than currently documented, or that this individual case saw a later movement or parts swap the auction listing didn't flag. Both readings stay open.
