The 4925 is the first Rolex Air-King — the 1945 hand-wound 34mm Oyster that gave the line its name. It launches alongside three sibling names: Air-Lion, Air-Tiger, Air-Giant. By the early 1950s only the Air-King survives. The 4925 carries the Air-King designation forward through the late 1940s and into the early 1950s, then hands off to the automatic 6552 (1953–57) and from there to the long-running 5500 (1957–89). Without the 4925 there is no Air-King line at all.
