Batgirl, blue-and-black Cerachrom

The 126710BLNR is the blue-and-black Oystersteel GMT-Master II introduced at Baselworld 2019. It brought caliber 3285 and the slimmer 126710 case generation to the 116710BLNR colourway. The launch configuration used a Jubilee bracelet. Rolex later offered the same reference on an Oyster bracelet. “Batgirl” and “Batman” are collector names for those bracelet configurations, not separate references.

Where it sits in the line

The 126710BLNR replaced the 116710BLNR in 2019. It shares its case and caliber 3285 with the Pepsi 126710BLRO, introduced in 2018, but keeps the blue-and-black bezel. The green-and-black 126720VTNR is a separate left-hand reference with a different crown position and case arrangement.

Production outline

Rolex launched the reference at Baselworld 2019 on a Jubilee bracelet with caliber 3285. The 116710BLNR was retired as the new reference arrived. Rolex added an Oyster-bracelet option in 2021; both bracelet versions use the same reference number.

Movement notes

The 126710BLNR uses caliber 3285. It is an automatic GMT movement with an independently adjustable local-hour hand, date, 24-hour display, stop-seconds, a 28,800 vph frequency, and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Rolex specifies the movement as a Superlative Chronometer with a -2/+2 seconds-per-day tolerance after casing.

The movement uses the Chronergy escapement, a blue Parachrom hairspring, and bidirectional automatic winding. Those are caliber specifications; they do not by themselves establish a production-year variant within the 126710BLNR.

Dial map

The documented dial is black with applied white-gold Maxi markers, Chromalight lume, and a blue 24-hour hand. Monochrome notes a small coronet between “Swiss” and “Made” at six o'clock on the 126710 generation. That mark helps distinguish it from many 116710BLNR dials, but it is a generation feature rather than a separate 126710BLNR variant.

The cited sources do not establish a complete dial-printing or lume timeline for the reference. A service dial can change the appearance of an individual watch, so the dial should be checked against the case number, papers, and service record.

Case, bezel, crystal, and crown notes

The Oystersteel case is listed at 40mm and uses the 126710 generation's narrower lug treatment. It has a screw-down caseback and Triplock crown, sapphire crystal with Cyclops date lens, and 100m water resistance. The bezel is bidirectional with a blue-and-black Cerachrom insert and a 24-hour scale.

The basic case architecture is shared with the 126710BLRO, while the 116710BLNR has the earlier case proportions. The 126710BLNR keeps the right-hand crown arrangement used by the standard GMT-Master II references.

Bracelets, end links, clasps, and packaging notes

The launch bracelet is a five-link Oystersteel Jubilee with an Oysterlock clasp and Easylink extension. Rolex added an Oystersteel Oyster bracelet option in 2021, also with Oysterlock and Easylink. There is no Glidelock diver extension on this reference.

Auction lots may include a guarantee card, manuals, hang tags, and presentation box. Those accessories belong to the individual lot and can vary by market and delivery date. A clasp or bracelet code dates that component, not automatically the watch head.

Special branches

Batgirl

“Batgirl” is collector shorthand for a 126710BLNR on the Jubilee bracelet. Sotheby's catalogued a circa-2019 example under that name. It is not a separate reference or movement.

Batman, Oyster configuration

The Oyster-bracelet version added in 2021 is often called “Batman,” following the nickname used for the earlier 116710BLNR. The reference number remains 126710BLNR; only the bracelet configuration differs.
