Rolex Oyster Perpetual 5013
Bubbleback → 5013
Reference 5013 is an automatic Oyster Perpetual with subsidiary seconds in five examined listings. Doyle and Linckersdorff describe solid-gold examples; Curious Curio, Cool Auction, and GMTBroker list steel watches with gold bezels. Each listing dates its watch to the 1940s. “Bubbleback” is the collector grouping used here; the records identify the watch as an Oyster Perpetual.

Where it sits in the line
Catalogues identify 5013 as a time-only Oyster Perpetual with automatic winding and subsidiary seconds. The listings show several case and dial combinations, but none dates their introduction or documents a transition during the run.
Production outline
Doyle dates a solid-gold example with partial case serial 58664 to the 1940s. Curious Curio describes its steel-and-yellow-gold example as late 1940s and shows an inner caseback stamped 5013. A Berlin dealer dates another gold example to 1940–49. Cool Auction dates a steel-and-gold watch to about 1949, while GMTBroker assigns 1948 to a steel-and-rose-gold example. Each date belongs to one catalogue or seller record. VetroPlastica gives a broader 1940–1950 band without explaining its basis; it does not establish the reference’s production span.
Movement notes
The five direct listings describe automatic winding and subsidiary seconds. Doyle gives movement number N76711, a movement serial. EveryWatch repeats Curious Curio’s 9¾-ligne size notation; a 2009 Rolex Forums chart also lists 9.75 for 5013, without a specimen or cited basis. Those figures describe size, not a numbered caliber. Cool Auction assigns Cal. 630 to its watch in the title and gives 630NA in the specifications. See Movements.

Dial map
The listings show several layouts, though they do not establish their order or verify that each dial is original to its case. Doyle describes a cream dial with Arabic numerals, batons, minute indicators, and subsidiary seconds. Curious Curio and Linckersdorff show Roman-numeral dials. Cool Auction describes wedge markers. GMTBroker shows Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 on silver; the originality claim comes from the seller. A separate marketplace listing titles a centre-seconds watch as a chapter-ring 5013, but its photograph shows no caseback or reference stamp, so the reference attribution remains unverified.

Case, bezel, crystal, and crown notes
Doyle’s lot is an approximately 32 mm, 18 kt yellow-gold watch with an engine-turned bezel, acrylic crystal, and signed crown. A Berlin dealer also lists an 18 ct gold 5013, with a silver Roman-numeral dial. Curious Curio describes its 32 mm case as steel with a yellow-gold engine-turned bezel. Cool Auction describes a 32 mm steel case with a 14K gold bezel; GMTBroker lists steel with an 18K rose-gold bezel. These records show both solid-gold and mixed-metal cases. They do not establish the full material range or a factory variant code.
The Curious Curio photographs show the screw-down crown, case profile, and an inner caseback stamped 5013. The same photograph includes a handwritten “5.23K” mark; the listing does not explain it, so it cannot date or identify the watch.

Bracelets, clasps, and packaging notes
Doyle catalogues an expandable Oyster-link bracelet with a deployant clasp on its gold example. Its condition report notes stretch and damage near the case; the catalogue does not say the bracelet was delivered with the watch. Curious Curio and GMTBroker show leather straps. These listings do not establish original bracelet fitment. GMTBroker also claims an original box, but that claim is not supported by a separate provenance record.
