Rolex Sea-Dweller 126603 in Yellow Rolesor with black dial and black ceramic bezel
Rolex Sea-Dweller, reference 126603

Rolex introduced the Sea-Dweller 126603 at Baselworld in 2019. It kept the 43 mm case, 1,220 m rating and calibre 3235 of the steel 126600, while adding Yellow Rolesor to the line: Oystersteel with 18 ct yellow gold. The black dial carries “SEA-DWELLER” in a yellow hue. Rolex still lists the 126603.

Place in the line

The 126603 joined the steel 126600 in 2019 as its Yellow Rolesor counterpart. Rolex kept the 43 mm case, helium escape valve, 1,220 m rating and calibre 3235, while changing the case, bezel and bracelet materials and using yellow-hued dial text. See 126600 for the steel version.

Production outline

Rolex presented the 126603 at Baselworld in 2019 and continues to list it. The start year is documented; Rolex has not published production totals or a final production year.

Movement notes

The 126603 uses calibre 3235, an automatic date movement with 31 jewels and an approximately 70-hour power reserve. Rolex lists its Chronergy escapement, blue Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers. The 126600 uses the same calibre; the 126603 did not introduce a new movement to the Sea-Dweller line.

Dial map

The dial is black with applied yellow-gold hour markers and hands filled with Chromalight. “SEA-DWELLER” appears in a yellow hue that matches the watch’s gold accents. Rolex contrasts this lettering with the red line used on the 2017 steel Sea-Dweller. Rolex’s current product page shows the same yellow text.

Case, bezel, crystal, and crown

The 43 mm Oyster case uses Yellow Rolesor. Rolex’s launch material identifies the middle case as Oystersteel; the bezel ring and winding crown are yellow gold. A black Cerachrom insert carries recessed graduations coated with yellow gold by PVD. The unidirectional bezel, Triplock crown, helium escape valve and 1,220 m rating carry over from the steel 126600.

A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal covers the dial, with a Cyclops lens over the date. The watch retains the Sea-Dweller’s screw-down caseback and crown architecture.

Bracelet, clasp, and packaging

Rolex’s 2019 launch brochure identifies the Oyster bracelet as reference 97223. It has solid links in Oystersteel and yellow gold, an Oysterlock safety clasp and a Glidelock extension with about 20 mm of adjustment. These details describe the launch specification. Bracelet fit and originality on an individual watch should be checked separately from the head.

Boxes, tags and papers in auction sets are period accessories, not reference-specific proof. A guarantee card dates the sale recorded for that watch; it does not establish when Rolex made it.

Collector reception

A launch-period Rolex Forums thread shows mixed reactions. Some members objected to adding gold to a professional diver; others liked the yellow dial text and the way it tied into the case and bracelet.

Historical market and auction record

Sotheby’s recorded serial H958H618 as a circa-2019 126603 with a black dial, 43 mm case, calibre 3235 and steel-and-gold bracelet. Christie’s separately catalogued a circa-2019 example with a 43 mm case and black dial. These lots document individual watches, not production totals or factory endpoints.
