Oyster Perpetual → 6567

14K gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual 6567 with honeycomb dial and riveted bracelet
Christie's circa-1954 14K-gold example, lot 33.

The 6567 is a mid-century, no-date Oyster Perpetual. The Vintage Rolex Field Manual lists automatic Cal. 1030, which Antiquorum identifies in multiple lots. Auction catalogues date individual examples to about 1954–1960 and describe steel, gold, and mixed-metal cases, usually 33–34 mm, with several bezel and dial combinations. These examples establish a documented window, not the full production span.

Where it sits in the line

The 6567 is one of Rolex's mid-size Oyster Perpetual references from the 1950s. The Vintage Rolex Field Manual lists it as a mid-size model with Cal. 1030 and a fluted bezel. Auction catalogues also use the terms faceted, ribbed, and ridged for individual bezels.

Antiquorum's 2006 catalogue says the 6567 and 6564 are identical except for the bezel, describing the 6564 as polished and the 6567 as faceted. A 2022 Antiquorum lot was catalogued jointly as 6564/6567, with a pink-gold “chocolate bar” bracelet. These are auction-house attributions; neither establishes universal interchangeability or a single factory rule.

Production outline

Auction catalogues date 6567 watches from circa 1954 through circa 1960. Those dates apply to individual pieces, not a complete production sequence.

Five catalogued case numbers can be compared with Pergola's serial bands. Antiquorum dates case 118,945 to 1955; it falls in the chart's 63,425–139,166 band labeled 1955. Christie's dates case 65,560 to circa 1954, within that same band. Antiquorum dates case 147,691 to 1956, the first number in the next band, and case 422,647 to circa 1959, within a band labeled 1958. Gazette Drouot dates case 358,531 to circa 1958; Pergola's band containing it is labeled 1957. These are rough checks for individual watches; the catalogue estimates and chart do not set the reference's production endpoints.

Movement notes

Antiquorum identifies Cal. 1030 in gold, steel, and mixed-metal examples, and the Field Manual lists it for the reference. Christie's circa-1960 listing describes a self-winding watch but names no caliber. Antiquorum's 1992 listing describes a 12½-ligne, 25-jewel movement without a caliber number. For its 1956 steel-and-white-gold example, Antiquorum gives 25 jewels and adjustment to five positions and temperature.

Dial map

The entries below are individual catalogue descriptions, not a frequency count or a set of factory variant names. The final row is catalogued jointly as 6564/6567.

Antiquorum's 2009 black-dial listing describes luminous dots and dauphine hands; its 2006 steel-and-white-gold listing also describes dauphine hands and luminous dots. The records do not date these details to separate production phases.

Case, bezel, crystal, and crown notes

Most cited catalogues measure the watch at 34 mm; Antiquorum gives 33.7 mm for its 18K example with a certificate. These are the material descriptions used in the catalogues:

18K yellow gold Antiquorum, case 85,533, 1950s

stainless steel with 14K-gold bezel Heritage, circa-1959 example
steel and gold, parts unspecified Christie's, circa-1960 example

Antiquorum's 1999 catalogue gives a reference-level list of 9K, 14K, 18K, steel, and steel-and-gold examples. Its 9K entry is a house summary, and the cited individual lots do not include a 9K watch. Christie's circa-1960 listing uses “steel and gold” without identifying which case parts are gold.

catalogue term example
fluted Antiquorum 2001 and 2010; Christie's 2023
faceted Antiquorum 2006, steel and white gold
ribbed Antiquorum 1999, 18K gold
ridged Antiquorum 2009, stainless steel

The catalogues' terms describe individual bezels; the listings do not establish whether ribbed and ridged name separate factory variants. Antiquorum's 2006 catalogue says the 6567 and 6564 differ only by bezel, a house comparison rather than a factory parts record.

Auction descriptions call the crown and caseback screw-down on individual examples. The catalogues leave crystal material and crown replacement history unspecified.

Bracelets, clasps, and packaging notes

Auction catalogues record several bracelets with individual watches. These listings describe sale pairings; they do not establish factory delivery:

18K Oyster bracelet Antiquorum, mid-1950s example

bracelet ref. 78350/19 with end links 557 Gazette Drouot, circa-1958 steel-and-gold example; components may be later replacements

Antiquorum explicitly calls the bracelet on its circa-1959 18K-gold lot from 2015 “not original”; it also describes the hands as replaced and the dial as reprinted. The 2026 Gazette Drouot listing records bracelet ref. 78350/19 and end links 557 on a steel-and-gold example, while noting that service or restoration may have changed components.

Antiquorum's 2021 gold example came with a certificate and fitted box. Its catalogue says the reference was no longer visible between the lugs and identifies it as a 6567 from the papers and other details. Treat that identification as the auction house's attribution. The box and papers document that lot, not a reference-specific package.

Special branches

The auction records reviewed here cover commercial Oyster Perpetuals. None identifies a military or retailer-commissioned branch.
