Where it sits in the line

Ref. 2508 is the two-pusher counterpart; both are non-Oyster wrist chronographs.

Production outline

Antiquorum dates one example to 1928, two to the 1930s and another to the 1940s. Heritage dates its steel example to about 1935. The production span is unknown.

Antiquorum's 2014 lot 592 is internally inconsistent: its heading and essay identify ref. 2562, while the description calls case 22411 a 2507. No reference stamp is legible in the catalogue image. A Rolex Forums post labels a cropped copy of Antiquorum's 2008 photograph as 30 mm; Antiquorum lists that watch, case 25672, at 40 mm.

Movement notes

The catalogues list 12-, 12.5- and 13-ligne movements. Heritage identifies the movement in case 65646 as a 17-jewel Y65. The separate DGR/iCollector watch has “MARCONI” on the bridge; its caliber number is not legible.

Dial map

Antiquorum describes black multi-scale dials and a matte-silver dial with gold Arabic numerals, a telemeter and a spiral tachymeter. Heritage's steel watch has a two-tone silver-and-gold dial, radial Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and blue batons. The DGR listing shows a black, multi-scale dial on the watch whose caseback is stamped 2507. The dial is worn and reflective; the photo cannot establish whether it is original.

Case, bezel, crystal, and crown notes

Auction catalogues document yellow-gold and stainless-steel cases. Antiquorum's gold case 25672 has a hinged back and concave lugs. Heritage describes steel case 65646 as a three-body case with a snap back and one ovoid pusher. The separate DGR example's inner caseback is stamped “R.W.C Ltd” and “2507.” The DGR lot gives no date for the watch.

Case 25672 is the only 40 mm example here; the others measure 31–33 mm.

Bracelet, clasp, and packaging notes

The catalogue photographs show leather or cloth straps. Antiquorum's 1999 lot records a Rolex buckle and fitted box but does not say whether they came with the watch. No original bracelet or clasp fitment is established for the 2507.

Auction record

The 1992 and 1999 Antiquorum catalogues describe similar black-dial gold watches, but neither gives a case number to show whether they are the same watch.
