Adam's Auctioneers, lot 125, 13 May 2026; case 3,768,271. The catalogue cautions that component originality is unconfirmed.

Ref. 6751 is a mid-size Oyster Perpetual. Most exact-reference catalogues describe a time-only watch with automatic Cal. 2030, in steel, steel and gold, or solid gold. Cambi's 2019 catalogue identifies a gold watch as ref. 6751 and shows a date window; it supplies no movement caliber. Catalogued examples date from around 1973 to 1980, while the factory production span has not been established.

Where it sits in the line

The Vintage Rolex Field Manual lists ref. 6751 as a mid-size Oyster Perpetual with Cal. 2030 and a fluted bezel. Exact-reference catalogues support Cal. 2030 in steel, two-tone and gold examples. Rolex's 1978 service manual distinguishes Cal. 2030 from calendar-equipped Cal. 2035; its caliber descriptions do not link either movement to ref. 6751.

Pandolfini's 2012 title calls a two-tone 6751 “Date Just,” while its description lists central seconds and Cal. 2030. Cambi's 2019 lot 229 calls a gold watch “Oyster Perpetual Date,” and its photograph shows a date window. Cambi supplies no caliber or caseback image, leaving the date-display attribution in tension with the time-only Cal. 2030 records.

Other catalogues pair 6751 with 6744, 6748 or 6749. Aste Bolaffi's steel watch and Adam's gold watch both have inner casebacks stamped 6751; Kaplans lists 6751 in its case-number field. The paired numbers remain individual catalogue attributions; their relationship has not been established. The 6748 article covers the overlapping attributions.

Production outline

Auction catalogues date individual examples to circa 1973, the 1970s and circa 1980. A 1975 guarantee accompanies Aste Bolaffi's steel watch; Kaplans records a January 1979 certificate. Cambi's 2019 gold watch is also dated circa 1973. These dates belong to the specific watches or papers.

Recorded case numbers include 3,531,066; 3,585,500; 3,768,271; 3,849,372; 4,023,981; 4,158,851; 5,066,116; 5,237,029; and 6,204,398. The Cambi 2019 date-display watch is case 3,585,500. See the serial-number guide for the limits of dating a watch from its case number or papers.

Movement notes

Several exact-reference catalogues identify Cal. 2030. Aste Bolaffi lists movement no. 00018 and 28 jewels for its steel example; Cambi, Dorotheum, Kaplans, Schuler and Adam's Auctioneers also name Cal. 2030 in individual records. Aste Bolaffi and Adam's each published a movement photo tied to a watch with an inner caseback stamped 6751. The catalogues supply the Cal. 2030 attributions; the photos show the movements but not enough markings to verify the caliber independently. Cambi's 2019 date-display example has no caliber listed and remains a separate record. See Movements for the caliber's broader specifications and documented fitments.

Case, bezel, crystal, and crown notes

Catalogue measurements run from about 29 mm at Dorotheum to 31 mm at Cambi and Schuler; Aste Bolaffi gives 30 mm and Kaplans 30.5 mm. The catalogues omit their measuring methods.

Records describe steel, steel-and-gold, and solid 18K yellow-gold cases. Aste Bolaffi reports a fluted bezel and screw-down back on its steel watch. Dorotheum reports a screw-down crown; Cambi describes a screwed-down back and gold crown. Kaplans lists Plexiglas. These details belong to their respective examples.

Bracelets, end links, clasps, and packaging notes

Aste Bolaffi lists an Oyster 7835 bracelet with 351 end links on its steel example. Cambi records a riveted Oyster bracelet with a C/51 clasp on one gold watch and a solid-gold President bracelet on another. Kaplans lists a Jubilee 62523M-A/487 J on its two-tone example. These pairings belong to the catalogued watches; the records do not establish original delivery across the reference.

Catalogue records pair individual watches with a 1975 purchase guarantee, a January 1979 certificate, and boxes. Each item belongs to its recorded lot; no reference-wide packaging set is documented.

Special branches

Aste Babuino catalogs a solid-gold ref. 6751/8 with a 31 mm case and riveted gold Oyster bracelet. Its sale text leaves the suffix unexplained, so the record does not show whether it marks a broader production variant.

Watchpedia Japan describes the two-tone 67513 as the 6751's successor, with a sapphire crystal and Cal. 2130, introduced around 1987. It provides a later comparison point; the source does not date the end of 6751 production.

Those joint labels remain attached to their respective objects. Setdart describes a customized Mickey Mouse dial; that listing documents an altered watch rather than a factory branch.
