Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 15017
Oyster Perpetual → 15017
The 15017 is a yellow-gold Oyster Perpetual Date with Cal. 3035. Auction catalogues date two individual cases to circa 1981 and 1982, and list their diameters as 34 and 35 mm. The factory production span has not been established. The records describe notched or engine-turned bezels, several dial colors, and more than one bracelet or strap configuration.

Where it sits in the line
The 15017 belongs to the five-digit Oyster Perpetual Date group. Collector u/powerfunk's 2016 guide identifies it as a 14K yellow-gold Date with an engine-turned bezel, alongside the 15007 and 15037. The Monaco Legend catalogue identifies case 6753888 as a 14K gold 15017 and describes its notched bezel. The auction record anchors the identification; the collector post supplies terminology and model-line context. Reddit collector guide; Monaco Legend Auctions, 2017 catalogue, lot 209
Monaco Legend sold case 6753888 again in 2020, three years after its earlier catalogue entry. The later listing shows it on a leather strap. Sotheby's lists a Jubilee bracelet on another watch. These surviving listings do not establish the original delivery configuration. Monaco Legend Auctions, 2020 catalogue, lot 14

Movement notes
Both case-numbered auction records identify Cal. 3035. Sotheby's gives 27 jewels. A separate movement photograph shows the 3035 marking. Grail Watch Reference also lists 15017 among the Date models using this caliber. Rolexopedia's Cal. 3035 entry covers the movement's design and quick-set date. Dealer photo set; Grail Watch Reference
Dial map
The two auction records describe different dial colors. Monaco Legend lists a silver dial with applied gold baton markers on case 6753888. Sotheby's calls the dial on case 7107210 champagne. A separate 15017-stamped watch has a metallic brown gilt dial with stick markers in the dealer photographs. These three records document individual examples; the factory dial range and the originality of each surviving dial remain unconfirmed. Dealer photo set
Case, bezel, crystal, and crown notes
Monaco Legend describes case 6753888 as 14K gold, with a notched bezel and screw-down crown and caseback. Sotheby's describes case 7107210 as 14ct gold but does not name its bezel treatment. Dealer photographs show engine-turning on a separately stamped 15017, and the 2016 collector comparison uses the same term. The descriptions agree on the bezel's general treatment; the reviewed records do not identify a Rolex part number. Dealer photographs; Reddit collector guide
The photographs show 15000 and 14K/585 on the inside caseback, and 15017 on the outer case side. The page title calls the watch 14K, while its case-material field says 18K. The hallmark photo supports 14K for that case; the conflicting listing field remains unresolved. The listing gives 34 mm, while Sotheby's gives 35 mm for case 7107210. The catalogues do not identify the crystal material. Dealer listing and photos

Bracelets, end links, clasps, and packaging notes
Sotheby's lists a 14ct yellow-gold Jubilee bracelet with folding clasp on case 7107210. Its photographs show the bracelet on the same watch from multiple angles. The listing for the separate 15017-stamped watch calls its bracelet a 6311 Jubilee with 20 links. That is a seller identification for one watch; the records do not establish original fitment. The seller also lists the bracelet as 18K, but no bracelet hallmark is clear in the photographs. Monaco Legend's 2020 catalogue shows case 6753888 on a leather strap; its 2017 entry does not specify a strap or bracelet. End-link and clasp references remain undocumented in the located records. Sotheby's also lists a Rolex booklet, presentation box, tags, and a service paper stamped in New York in June 1991. These accessories belong to case 7107210 and show what accompanied this one sale.
